Adult mosquitoes have a lifespan of 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the species, rainfall, temperature, and other variables. Female mosquitoes have a longer lifespan than male mosquitoes.
Mosquitoes are drawn to places where there is standing water. Female mosquitoes like to lay their eggs in stagnant water because it provides them with the best conditions for survival. Some mosquitoes will also lay their eggs in damp soil, which will hatch until the soil is saturated with water.
